Accessibility statement

Malletts Bay Campground wants everyone to be able to plan a stay with us, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

Our standard

This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, the standard referenced for website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The French version of the site is held to the same standard.

What we've done

Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “skip to main content” link.
Text and buttons meet WCAG AA color-contrast ratios.
Every meaningful photo has a text description; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
The photo viewer works as an accessible dialog: focus stays inside it, Escape closes it, and focus returns to the photo you opened.
Pages use proper headings, landmarks and lists, and declare their language (English or French).
The layout reflows for zoom up to 400% and small screens without sideways scrolling.
Animations are turned off for visitors who have “reduce motion” set on their device.
Phone numbers, email and links say where they go, and links that open a new tab say so.

How we test

We test with the axe-core automated accessibility engine and by hand, using keyboard-only navigation, zoom, and reduced-motion settings. Automated tools catch only part of the picture, so we also welcome feedback from people who use assistive technology every day.

Known limitations

The embedded map is provided by Google Maps. We don't control its accessibility; the campground address and a “Get directions” link are provided as text alongside it.
Reservations are taken by phone. If a phone call doesn't work for you, email us and we'll make your reservation that way.
